Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is designed to relieve short and long term soft tissue injuries where there is pain or loss of movement.
The initial treatment includes an assessment of the injury to determine the muscle groups which need specific work. Once the muscle group is identified a treatment plan outlining the techniques to be used is developed and rehabilitation exercises are provided.
Oils for reducing inflammation such as rosemary and peppermint are combined with the most effective techniques for the injury including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, cupping and transverse friction. Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage restores your sense of wellbeing and reduces tension by using gentle nurturing and flowing strokes in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart to stimulate your skin and nervous system leaving you feeling as if you are floating.
To enhancing the massage, your therapist will create a specific oil blend personalised for you to ensure you are completely relaxed.
Pregnancy Massage
Emotionally and physically balancing, the Naturally U pregnancy massage is ideal for alleviating the discomforts of pregnancy (including sciatica, fatigue, back pain and swelling) and increasing your wellbeing.
During your treatment, pregnancy friendly oils specific to each trimester are used to enhance your relaxation, and improve skin and sleep quality.
Special supportive pregnancy massage cushions are used by Naturally U to allow you to lie on your stomach through the massage, providing added enjoyment and comfort.
Dry Needling
Dry needling involves needling of myofascial trigger points to deactivate the trigger points and relieve muscle pain and dysfunction. Trigger points build up within taut muscle bands leading to pain and reduced range of motion. Dry needling is an effective gentle treatment to deactivate trigger points with minimal discomfort. After a treatment clients will experience little if any post treatment soreness, reduced muscle tension and a greater sense of relaxation. Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle relaxing treatment that stimulates the lymphatic system resulting in an improved immune system as toxins and wastes are eliminated from the body.
MLD can assist a number of conditions including:
- Lymphodema
- Post-op lymphatic congestion
- Sporting injuries
- Inflammatory conditions such as arthritis
- Bronchitis and asthma
- Skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis are present.
When treating Lymphodema conditions or to prevent post-op lymphatic congestion the treatment may include massage, compression therapy and self help exercises.
Hot Stones
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, water heated stones to alleviate pain, increase joint mobility and create calmness to the mind and body. The heat from the stones relaxes muscles, increases the blood flow to the body and relaxes the body’s nervous system. A treatment that will leave you feeling rejuvenated, peaceful and pampered.
Sports Massage
Prepare for your next major sporting event with an energising massage that uses warm therapeutic oils to revitalise tired muscles and minimise the risk of a sporting injury. Importantly, stretches are incorporated to further enhance the massage allowing you to maximise your performance. And don't forget the recovery massage to restore your wellbeing and release the build up of lactic acid.
Deep Tissue Massage
During this massage a combination of long flowing strokes and circular movements will work deep into the muscles relieving tightness. Therapeutic oil blends such as lime, bergamot and sandalwood are used to encourage the muscles to release tension leaving you feeling lighter and more energised.
CuppingCupping is an ancient Chinese technique used to stimulate the flow of blood and lymph to reduce muscle pain and dysfunction. It is beneficial for alleviating muscle tension, sporting injuries, common colds and flu and stimulating the nervous system.
